Field School Application

Application Process

Read all program materials carefully.
Submit your application online or print and mail to:

Rice Field School Coordinator, Department of Anthropology, MS-20, Rice University, Houston, TX 77005 no later than 5pm on Friday, February 28, 2023 or leave in the Anthropology Office in Sewall 570.

A complete application includes:
- The Student Application form (below):
  - contact information
  - statement of interest in which you address: your motivation to participate in this program; your academic and personal preparation for this program; and what strengths you will bring to both the academic coursework and to the group of participants.
- A transcript (Rice students unofficial transcript: can be printed from Esther)
- One faculty contact for a reference--the Field School Coordinator will contact your reference, you do not need to supply a letter.
Upon acceptance, you will need to sign a Participation Agreement which includes an assumption of risk and release from liability.
Financial need should not be a barrier to participation in this program. If you need additional financial support to participate in this program, please mark that on the application.
The program fee is due on April 15.
